Build It and They Will Come
Five Rivers Outdoors is turning Dayton into the Midwest's adventure capital
By: Mary Reed

Yvonne Entingh spent Memorial Day weekend doing a solo 34-mile backpacking trip along the Appalachian Trail in Tennessee. When she returned home to Bellbrook, Ohio, a Dayton suburb, she sent a message to the staff at Five Rivers Outdoors thanking them for teaching her everything she knew. In her case, it really was everything – from organizing her backpack to back country cooking to fire starting to simply knowing and expanding her own comfort zone in the outdoors.

Five Rivers Outdoors is the outdoor adventure arm of Dayton's Five Rivers MetroParks. They specialize in giving people all of the tools they need for outdoor experiences, and they have the sites to put those tools to use. Find out about the exciting trails, and an Ohio first... all in the current issue of Over the Back Fence.
